Section 29
Deploying additional police in cases of special threat to public peace

(1) If there is a turbulent or dangerous situation in an area, and if it is deemed necessary to deploy more police due to the behavior of the residents or a certain category of residents, the Government of Nepal may publish a notice in the Nepal Gazette and prescribe the following:
(a) Place where additional police should be stationed. ………. and
(b) Period to keep additional police.
(2) The decision made by the Government of Nepal in accordance with sub-section (1) shall be final (3) Subject to sub-section (5) of this section, the expenses of such additional police shall be borne by the residents of the area specifically mentioned in the notification.
(4) Apart from those who are determined not to pay under sub-section (5), the chief district officer should examine and distribute the matter as determined by the Chief District Officer as to who should pay what and how much. The Chief District Officer will make such distribution considering the status of the residents.
(5) The Government of Nepal may release such expenses incurred by any class or part of such residents by publishing a notice. Explanation: For the purposes of this section, the word "resident" means any person who owns or occupies land or immovable property within such locality by himself or by his heirs, heirs or servants, and who collects rent or usufructs of land by himself or his heirs, heirs or servants directly or through a raiyat. It also refers to the owner of the land.
